February 2018

February was a month full of little adventures. We didn't do anything big or exciting, but we stayed busy and entertained. Lacrosse season started and I coached Hockaday Middle School again. The girls are such cute, good girls! Lots of talent on the team too! It's been so fun to work with them!

We found plenty of indoor fun

At the mall storytime and yoga,

At Home Depot's free kid's workshop,

At church playgrounds,

Entertainment Spaces

and Rec Centers

We went out for an embarrassing amount of treats! But I hit 20 weeks in my pregnancy so I had a good excuse to eat a lot (though maybe I should have used those extra calories for something healthy)

A PB cup doughnut from WOW, an ice cream doughnut sandwich from Milk & Cream, and of course, Steel City Pops. I'm pretty sure Cheesecake Factory desserts were in there too, for valentines day, but I didn't take a picture. Dang.

I had a few girls nights to celebrate birthdays and Galentines

I hit my halfway mark in this pregnancy. Pregnancy is freaking rough.
But it's better when you have a lot of friends going through the same thing!
The three of us are due within a week of each other!

We found a little bit of outdoor fun!
We went to one of our usual parks in Carrollton.

and found a waterfall in Fort Worth.

Just for personal journal/records sake... our car needed a major repair this month... a new engine. It was a huge financial blow to us and caused a lot of stress. But I guess if that's the worst of our problems, we've got it pretty good.

January 2017

Crazy that it's 2017 already! What?! Gavin had to return to Texas the first week of January for work, but Owen and I stayed in Utah in order to attend a wedding and take advantage of the the snow!
My family the Provo City Center temple, enjoying my cousin's wedding.
Owen was the best dancer at the reception! I'm not biased, right?
The picture above is my sister and I enjoying some fresh powder on the slopes. snowboarding is my happy place!
We went on a snowy adventure to Potato Hill. I loved having my mom, aunt, and sister join!
The winter is, in my opinion, the best time to visit Hot Springs. Since Texas doesn't have any (at least that I know of), I needed to get my fill of hot springs in. I have awesome, adventurous family members who were willing to make the trips to Meadow Hot Springs, and Mystic Hot Springs.
By the end of our long trip, it was hard to say goodbye.
Coming back to these friends made it easier though:
I'm thankful for my loving home, and also thankful for my growing Texas family!

December 2016

Christmas season is great, isn't it?! I love all the charity campaigns, decorated cities, and I especially love the extra time spent with family.
This December, Owen and I took some time to sight-see some of Dallas's decked out cities. We checked out the lights in Addison at Vitruvian park, saw the decorations in Mckinney, and took pictures around Bishop Arts District. We also gawked at the "tallest indoor Christmas tree in America", which is at the Galleria, about 2 miles away from us.
Gavin's work threw a great holiday party! It was held at the Perot museum, which is a very nice and expensive museum to get in to. We were grateful we got to experience it in a way where we didn't have to pay and we didn't have to fight crowds or bring our babe! It was fun to get all dressed up and hang out with Gavin's work friends!
Then the best part of December was flying home to see our families! Hanging out with our siblings is the best! This was the first Christmas in three years that my whole family was together. The cherry on top was that our parents did a good job of spoiling us with presents again this year.
We ended the year with some snowboarding, Top Golf (twice!) and NYE parties. Unfortunately, I lost a lot of my December pictures due to my computer crashing! These are the two I have left:
This is the first time we've had to travel to see family for the holidays. It was so nice that we were able to just stay with family and play and relax, instead of worrying about to-do-lists. Thank you family, for letting us take full advantage of that!

March 2016

March was another month good to us. Here's some of what it brought:
Snowboarding with my brother and sister.
Skiing with my husband and brother.
Spending Easter with my family.
First time four eyes. Accomplished my new years resolution of winning something off Instagram. Owen being stinking cute and showing off his teeth. My cousin's farewell and my goofy family.

All this plus the usual school, work, lacrosse, laundry, and other things we don't take pictures of!

Skiing With the Scotts

One time we went skiing with all of Gavin's siblings and sibling-in-laws. Shay's Tanner had never been on a mountain to ski or snowboard before! We knew his first run down would be slow and we were OK with that- we were all there to help him- and laugh at him! As expected, he struggled getting off the lift, getting up on his skis, going, stopping, etc. We all gave him every tip we knew but he was getting so frustrated. After the first long run down the mountain, he quit. He refused to get on the lift again! I promised to never let him live the quitting down. In order to keep this promise, I made a highlight video of his one run. Thanks for being a good sport Tanner (about the video, not the skiing lol)!

January Update

I wish I had more time to write about it all, but here are our highlights of January!

This kid. Just everything about him.
Snowboarding and skiing with friends.
The Whole 30 for a week. It was a good idea. We didn't last because I couldn't handle spending ALL my free time in my messy kitchen and Gavin couldn't handle cutting out sugar ;) We will try it again one day! And we still cook Whole 30 meals for dinner a couple times a week!
The Provo Temple Open House. Every temple is beautiful but I promise this one takes it to the next level. The wood work and the wall paper- I never thought I could love those two things so much!
Lacrosse started! I love coaching! But as if I wasn't busy before lacrosse season started...
Owen and I are ready to kick some butt!
*Tubing at Soldier Hollow with my girls from Work
*Owen sledding with cousins
*Some time, but not enough, with family and friends.

NYE 2015

I love this time of year even though it always goes by way too fast! What day of the week is it??? I am OVERWHELMED thinking back on 2015 and the blessings and experiences we enjoyed.
Last night we spent a little bit of time at my mom's house with my huge crazy awesome family. Then we went up to Maddy's and drank a lot of Diet Coke, danced, and played games.
Lucky for us, Owen slept the whole time. We woke him up around 11:45 to welcome in the New Year and he was pretty freaked out! He looks pretty cute freaked out though.
Happy New Year everyone!
