 I turned 25 for the second time and celebrated by eating a lot of good food and taking care of my baby's diaper rash. 

(He had just spent a good 2 hours in grandma's sandbox when this picture was taken!)

 A little hike around Sandy for Earth Day.

 A 24 hour trip to Green River to learn how to guide a raft. It was beautiful and FREEZING! A van suffered a dead battery and a trailer suffered a flat tire. I'd say the trip was a success. 

And this kid. I wish I could read his mind! Too bad I can only read it as well as he can read this book he sat in the corner with!

Cross E Ranch

Apparently there is this cute family owned farm in North Salt Lake that lets visitors come play with their baby animals every spring! It's called Cross E Ranch and it's off Redwood and 3500 North (I didn't know Salt Lake went that far north!). I'm so glad we went! Owen loved it... and I'll admit I loved the baby animals too!

We had just sat through a windy and snowy lacrosse game, which is why I'm looking so hot! Yes, it was sunny here at the farm, but an hour before these pictures were taken we were all sitting in snow and hail! Gotta love Utah!

 O stayed amused on the hay ride! Gav was pretty interested too, actually!

Cotopaxi is an adventure gear company that puts on 24-hour statewide scavenger hunts across the country called Questivals. My brother, husband, and I created a team (#twoshadesofgray) and were in it to win it... and got 200th place!
It was a blast though! Twenty-four hours before the race started, we got an email with all the possible tasks and what they were worth so that we could make a game plan. Each team received a cotopaxi flag and in order to get points you needed to upload a picture of you doing the task holding the flag. Tasks ranged anywhere from "hold a staring contest with a stranger while eating a piece of fruit" to "cross a state border" to "hike Delicate Arch" to "perform a random act of kindness" to "mail a potatoe to someone" to "visit the Salt Flats" to "cook a meal over a campfire" to "run underneath a waterfall". There were hundreds of tasks, I can't name them all. 
Owen came to the opening ceremonies with us, then he slept at my mom's and stayed with my family while the rest of us headed off for adventure.  Here are some of my favorite pictures.

March 2016

March was another month good to us. Here's some of what it brought:

 Snowboarding with my brother and sister.

Spending Easter with my family.

 First time four eyes. Accomplished my new years resolution of winning something off Instagram. Owen being stinking cute and showing off his teeth. My cousin's farewell and my goofy family.

All this plus the usual school, work, lacrosse, laundry, and other things we don't take pictures of!

Skiing With the Scotts

One time we went skiing with all of Gavin's siblings and sibling-in-laws. Shay's Tanner had never been on a mountain to ski or snowboard before! We knew his first run down would be slow and we were OK with that- we were all there to help him- and laugh at him! As expected, he struggled getting off the lift, getting up on his skis, going, stopping, etc. We all gave him every tip we knew but he was getting so frustrated. After the first long run down the mountain, he quit. He refused to get on the lift again! I promised to never let him live the quitting down. In order to keep this promise, I made a highlight video of his one run. Thanks for being a good sport Tanner (about the video, not the skiing lol)!

The whole gang-sha-bang

February 2016

This February has been full of the same things all our February's are full of: school, work, lacrosse, snowboarding, family. Here's the other highlights!

I had heard that in February, bald eagles migrate to the Great Salt Lake. Owen I headed up to Farmington to spot them and guess what... we did! Poor Owen didn't feel good that day, but he was a trooper.

 He learns something new every day and is always making us laugh. Here he is pulling the rug over himself like a blanket on our kitchen floor.

 Gavin wanted to try skiing, so I relearned while Gavin learned. I think we both did pretty well! 

We took a trip to St. George and Zion with Maddy and Aaron. We always have so much fun with them and are grateful they let us tag along on their trip! We did the Emerald Pools hike and the Canyon Overlook Trail. Both of these are easy hikes and highly recommended by yours truly. We even met a little goat friend! 

Can't wait to go back! I wouldn't mind reliving all these adventures!
